Crimson Clover (w/Nitro Coat® Organic) in a winter annual in the South and a spring/summer annual in the North.

Crimson clover is a versatile crop with many uses. It can be grown by itself as a stand alone crop for soils improvement, Nitrogen building or forage and works very welll in combination with other crops like cereal grains, annual ryegrass, and other winter annual legumes.

Crimson is the one of the most important winter annual legume in the Southeast and is excellent for pasture, hay, or green manure and at protecting the soil during winter and spring.
In the North Crimson is mostly grown as a summer annual or cover crop, extensively used as a Nitrogen building crop, fixing up to 125 units N/Acre. In the North, Crimson will mature in June with deep flowers on 18 inch plants.
Crimson will establish a thick green cover that is beneficial for weed suppression and biomass production and will produce a great amount of humus.
*Crimson is coated and pre-inoculated with an OMRI listed coating and inoculation for improved establishment and growth.
Coatings are beneficial for better seed coat protection and are easier to plant.
Inoculation is recommended when planting legumes.

Crimson clover is excellent for grazing and haying. It will regrow if grazed or mowed no lower than 3 or 4 inches before the early bud stage. Mixing Crimson with grass reduces its relatively low bloat risk even further.
